HUNDLEY DR & SHADY SHORES RD
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
DDM Construction Corp is delivering critical infrastructure improvements at Hundley Dr & Shady Shores Rd in Lake Dallas. Work includes new water lines, sanitary sewer lines, and storm drainage along Hundley Dr, Shady Shores Rd, and Beck Ave.
Construction is anticipated March 2026 through March 2028 and will occur in phases, so not all areas will experience construction at the same time. Updates will be posted as each phase begins.

Construction Updates
Central Hundley (Shady Shores Rd to Lakeview Dr)
- Hundley will remain two-way traffic.
- Drainage inlet construction will continue until complete.
- Driveways and side streets are scheduled to be fully complete by end of September.
- Sidewalk construction is scheduled to start, upon resource availability, within the next couple of weeks.
- Finish-Out activities will start to shape up through end of 2026 (street lights, irrigation system, landscaping, pavement markings & permanent signs).
West Hundley (Lake Dallas Dr to Shady Shores Rd)
- Hundley will remain one-way Westbound traffic, despite which side of the road traffic is driving on.
- Earthwork and paving will start on the South side of Hundley this week. South side construction is anticipated to last 3 weeks, pending weather.
- Driveway access will be limited to select driveways to speed up the earthwork and paving operation. Fewer leave-outs means quicker finish.
- Once South side is complete, traffic will shift to South side (Westbound one-way) and North side construction will start. The full roadway is anticipated to be fully paved by mid-November (pending weather), including completed driveways. Once Hundley is complete, traffic will resume to two-way.
- Finish-Out activities will start mid-November and will continue through end of January (pending weather). This includes sidewalks, street lights, irrigation, landscaping, pavement markings & permanent signs.
Beck Ave
- Sewer installation complete.
- Water line installation is starting this week and expecting to last through end of September (pending weather).
- Road reconstruction is anticipated to start mid-October and last through end of November (pending weather).
South Shady Shores (Main St to Hundley Dr)
- Utilities on Shady Shores is anticipated to start by end of September. We are scheduled to do water line, then sewer, then storm drain. Utilities expected to be complete by end of November (pending weather).
- Shady Shores is planned to be done (earthwork & paving) in halves, so that one-way traffic can be maintained.
East Hundley (Lakeview Dr to Willow Grove Park)
- When construction begins on East Hundley (tentatively beginning of November - pending weather), traffic is planned for one-way Eastbound traffic for the duration of construction (utilities through paving completion).
- Full timeline of East Hundley construction is expected to be November 2026 through May 2027 (pending weather).

North Shady Shores (Hundley Dr to Swisher Rd)
- Work expected to begin February 2027.
- As this work approaches, more details will be provided.
Traffic Control Plan
Hundley Dr is currently undergoing construction, necessitating strict traffic control measures and detours. Current detour routes utilize Swisher Rd and Main Street to bypass Hundley. Hundley is one-way Westbound between Shady Shores Rd and Lake Dallas Dr. We recommend that commuters plan for an additional 5-10 minutes of travel time during peak hours.
